Scott & White Healthcare has signed a contract to purchase 116 acres in Marble Falls for its planned Lake of the Hills Regional Medical Center.
Scott & White partnered with the City of Marble Falls and Llano Memorial Health System on plans to build medical center, which will include a 40,000-square-foot clinic building and a new 60-bed, 175,000-square-foot hospital. The facility will offer a 24-hour emergency department, cardiac services, operating rooms, maternity services, cancer services, imaging technology and diagnostic services.
The medical center will be built at the intersection of U.S. 281 and TX 71, adjacent to a new water tower that the city built to support the development of the area into a medical hub.
The land deal is expected to close by Oct. 1, and construction is expected to begin July 2011.
“Today marks the continuation of our commitment to Marble Falls and the entire region,” said Alfred B. Knight, M.D., president and CEO of Scott & White. “The hard work by all parties involved has brought us closer to the building of a health care complex that will provide this community access to the highest quality patient care that has become synonymous with the Scott & White name.”
Earlier this year, development of the medical center was halted when Scott & White terminated a contract with a developer.
