More than 850 jobs could come to the Marble Falls area in the next couple of years and some contractors are expected to pump money into the local economy by buying building materials locally.
That jobs number is contingent upon three major construction projects—the building of the Lake of the Hills Regional Medical Center near the intersection of US 281 and SH 71 and the replacements of the US 281 bridge over Lake Marble Falls and the Thomas C. Ferguson Power Plant in Horseshoe Bay—going as planned.
In addition to the three construction projects, city officials are also excited about recent in-town business developments including the remodeling of Pizza Hut and Bella Sera and the openings of the Wines Across Texas wine bar bistro and the Koy Chinese and Sushi restaurant.
“What we’ve seen is a resurgence,” said Ralph Hendricks, Marble Falls City Manager. “We’re seeing a lot of new businesses and businesses expanding. That’s a pretty good indicator that the economy is picking up.”
