MARBLE FALLS, Texas (KXAN) - Ronn Motor Company is announcing Wednesday it has finalized deal to relocate to a new manufacturing headquarters.

The deal with the Economic Development Corporation is set to bring a headquarters that will feature a showroom, executive offices and an assembly plant.

The 76,000-square-foot manufacturing facility will be located on 7.5 acres within the city of Marble Falls.

The facility and the monies made available by the EDC will allow the company to expand production of the Scorpion HX, an eco-friendly sports car that runs on hydrogen fuel.

This eco-exotic sports car, as the company refers to it, will not be the only thing driving into town once construction is complete in 2010. More jobs will be moving into the Hill Country as well.

These jobs are expected to cast a wide employment net  with all the new products the company is working to produce.

A company press release stated that once construction is complete, plans are in place to manufacture new products including a second-generation automobile - a hydrogen, electric plug-in hybrid - and other related green products.

Officials in Marble Falls are optimistic the facility will breathe new life in the local economy.
