Committees

Executive Standing Committee
The Executive Committee shall conduct the personnel relations duties of hiring, firing, and conducting an annual evaluation of the Executive Director which shall be subject to approval by the WSRCA. The Executive Committee will also serve as the appeal entity of the grievance process as specified in the Employee Personnel Manual.
Business Standing Committee
The Business Committee is responsible for providing recommendations and guidance on the needs and services provided to employers and for coordinating local workforce investment activities to meet local economic development strategies. They are responsible for helping to educate the public including local employers, Chambers of Commerce, industry associations and Economic Development Corporations on available services. The Chair or his/her designee shall communicate appropriate information to the planning committee for consideration in planning recommendations to the full Board.
Child Care Standing Committee
The Child Care Committee is responsible for providing policy guidance compliant with applicable rules and regulations. They will conduct activities necessary to develop awareness of local child care needs and in developing recommendations for use of local initiative funds and collaborations. The Chair or his/her designee shall communicate appropriate information to the planning committee for consideration in planning recommendations to the full Board.
Monitoring/Evaluation Standing Committee
The Monitoring/Evaluation Committee shall be responsible for oversight of program performance and activities under the WSRCA Strategic and Operational Plan in accordance with federal and state rules and regulations and shall provide for the transmittal of such information to the Local Elected Officials. The Chair or his/her designee shall communicate appropriate information to the planning committee for consideration in planning related recommendations to the full Board.
Planning Standing Committee
The Planning Committee shall establish procedures and provide policy guidance for the development of the Strategic and Operational Plans and shall insure effective coordination of program activities with other appropriate agencies, Board sub-committees and interested parties. The PLANNING COMMITTEE shall utilize information obtained from the above mentioned entities in their policy and procedure recommendations to the full Board.
Education and Training Standing Committee
The Education and Training Committee is responsible for providing policy guidance and recommendations related to the Board's role in the local education systems and in coordination with the activities of the business committee, will provide guidance on training methodologies and sites throughout the service area. Additionally, the committee will be responsible for helping promote workforce education or awareness activities within the service area and to reinforce the need for joint planning of key stakeholders. The Chair or his/her designee shall communicate appropriate information to the planning committee for consideration during the planning process.
